On August 1, 1989, Nottingham Animal Hospital opened for the first time. My vision when I opened the hospital was a practice where I would know all the pets and owners, and would be able to provide personalized care to each pet I treated. I did not want to be the biggest veterinary hospital, but I wanted to provide the best care to each pet that I saw.
For many years, I was the only veterinarian at Nottingham- I hired relief veterinarians when I went on vacation or to conferences, but I was the only full time vet at the practice. This all changed after I married Joe in 1993, and we decided to have children. Many of you first met my children when they were very little, as they were often at Nottingham Animal Hospital. I wanted to spend time with them, and to watch them grow up, and be involved with their activities. To do all that, it was soon apparent that I needed additional veterinarians to work with us.
In 1997, Dr. Rankin joined our practice. I have been so lucky to have such a caring, compassionate, intelligent, and talented veterinarian at Nottingham. I am also incredibly lucky to have such a terrific support staff. Our doctors, receptionists and technicians make our practice the warm, friendly, comfortable hospital that I envisioned all those years ago.
Over these 30+ years, we have also made many wonderful friends. There are patients and clients that I will NEVER, ever forget. I thank each of you for the trust you have placed in us over the last 31 years.
Here's to the next 30 !!!
