After leasing our previous building for 19 years, Nottingham Animal Hospital moved to a new location on October 27th ! We purchased the Victorian house located at 3607 Nottingham Way, in Hamilton, so that we could continue to provide the BEST medical care for your pets. The new building is a 1904 Victorian House, with beautiful woodwork, stained glass, and the character you can only find in a vintage house. We have done extensive renovation in the original building, and added an addition on the back of the building. We think this is the perfect location and building, and we love our new home !
I
hope this doesn't sound like an award acceptance speech, but I really
want to thank some of the people and companies responsible for our new
hospital.
I would like to especially thank our construction company, L2M, for getting our hospital completed AHEAD OF SCHEDULE (by a LOT!), and on budget !!! Unheard
of ! We obtained the building permit in July, and were in the building
on Oct. 27th. Len and Karl were great to work with, and I really feel
lucky that I chose them to build and renovate our hospital.
We
also had a wonderful on-site contractor, Kevin D., who was responsible
for so many of the little (and big !) details in our building. He
oversaw the entire construction process, and was very helpful, always
cheerful, and incredibly patient with us ! How he managed the myriad
of construction workers is beyond me, but he got it done!
Kathy
Moore was our decorator, and did a great job with the color selection
and overall design of the interiors. There were millions of little
decisions to make on a daily basis, and I rarely made any decision
without a call to Kathy. Thanks, Kathy!
Our second architect, Ed O'Brien,
was responsible for the floor plan and the design of the new addition.
He was very sensitive to the historic nature of the buiding, and did a
great job designing a hospital that is functional and beautiful.
John Reymnann of Roberts and Reymann Engineering was
responsible for the site plan and helped us get through the zoning
process at the start of the project. He was the engineer that designed
our back parking lot, which is made of permeable pavers, so that we
would not need a retention basin. It is beautiful, and without this
design, it is unlikely that we would have been able to go forward with
the project at all.
A lot of you have been asking about the fireplace tiles. They were handmade by Margaret Licha- here is a link to her website: Margaret Licha Designs.
There are so many other people and companies involved, but I would most importantly like to thank our clients for their enthusiasm and loyalty! We built this hospital for you, and we hope you and your pets like it!
And as always, our hospital is a work in progress, so we welcome suggestions and input to help us serve you better!
